INTRODUCTION Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare at the very beginning of his career, the young lovers of two mutually hostile relatives, the death they finally re meramahkan their families. The drama was among Shakespeare's most popular works during his lifetime, and also the most frequently staged alongside Hamlet. Now, the character of Romeo and Juliet title characters are regarded as archetypal young lovers. Romeo and Juliet belongs to a tradition of tragic love which is rooted in antiquity. The plot is based on an Italian tale, translated in the form of poetry, namely The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke in 1562 and retold in prose in Palace of Pleasure by William Painter in 1567.
